Chapter 6: An Introduction to Pandas
The first thing that we need to take a look at while we are working with our data analysis is an introduction to the Python library known as Pandas. There are a lot of great libraries out there that are able to combine together with the Python library and ensure that we are going to be able to handle a lot of the different parts that come with data science and completing data analysis. With this said, the Pandas library is one of the best options to work with, and when we can use it in the proper manner, it is easier than ever to really take control over our project and see the results that we want.
With this in mind, we need to take some time to learn more about the Pandas library and what is going to come with it along the way. to start, Pandas is going to be a library that is available through Python. The point of using this is to make sure that we can see a faster amount of processing with data analysis, data cleaning, and data pre-processing. Pandas are going to work so well because it is built upon a few other libraries, including NumPy .
Basically, when NumPy and Pandas get together, they will both gain some superpowers that can make them easier to work with overall. There are a lot of neat features that you will be able to enjoy with the Pandas library, and with the NumPy library when the two combine together that you are not going to see when they are on their own.
At some point, you may have heard about something that is known as a data-frame. This is a pretty common term when we are talking about all of the things that you are able to do with machine learning. The term data frames though are going to come from Pandas. Pandas is able to take those data frames and helps us to create our own with ease. This can be helpful when we are working with data science overall .
Pandas is an easy library to work with, even though it is something that may seem like it is really complicated to work with. You will find that many programmers are going to compare it to working with Excel sheets. A lot of the features that you are able to find with an Excel sheet is going to be available in pandas as well. Of course, though, you are going to find that the Pandas library is going to have a lot of other features that make it a smarter choice to work with than what we see with just relying on an Excel sheet.
Before you work on installing this to your computer, you need to make sure that not only is the Python language set up and ready to use, but that the NumPy language is there as well. Pandas are going to build off some of the work that
